As everyone who’s anyone in fashion descended on the 2025 Met Gala, API (Asian Pacific Islander) stars made their presence known with looks that turned heads and honored identity. While the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, centers Black history and fashion, this year’s “Tailored for You” dress code gave attendees room to interpret the theme through their own cultural lens.
Shah Rukh Khan
A true king moment: Shah Rukh Khan made history as the first Indian male to walk the Met Gala red carpet, arriving in a regal look by Sabyasachi that redefined elegance with cultural depth. Draped in a floor-length, elongated coat crafted from Tasmanian superfine wool and fastened with monogrammed Japanese horn buttons, the Bollywood icon embodied quiet power and global luxury. The final flourish? The Bengal Tiger Head Cane studded with 18k gold, sapphires, tourmalines, and diamonds that turned his presence from a debut into a legacy.
S.Coups
Making his Met Gala debut, SEVENTEEN member S.Coups stunned in a sleek monochromatic look by Hugo Boss that perfectly blended tailored sophistication with avant-garde edge and an homage to a traditional Korean hanbok. The asymmetrical, layered design — complete with oversized elements and pleated trousers — felt effortlessly cool and forward-thinking, while staying true to his sleek, refined aesthetic. Recently named a Hugo Boss brand ambassador, the K-pop idol brought a fresh energy to the carpet, proving he’s not just about making music but making bold fashion statements, too.
Henry Golding
The Malaysian-British actor Henry Golding, indeed, brought the Gold to the Met Gala blue carpet. The Crazy Rich Asians and Snake Eyes actor stepped onto the event wearing a gleaming gold suit with sharp black detailing, striking the perfect balance between classic and head-turning.
Jennie
Jennie made a striking return to the Met Gala, turning heads in a custom Chanel look inspired by the house’s 1987 collection. The BLACKPINK star blended timeless glamour with a contemporary edge, wearing an off-the-shoulder black satin ensemble complete with a dramatic train and crisp tailored trousers. Finishing touches like a pearl strand, white camellia, and structured boater hat tied the look together. Clearly a Chanel-coded homage that perfectly reflected both the maison’s heritage and Jennie’s fashion-forward evolution.
Once again a Met Gala head-turner, Jennie graced the red carpet in a custom Chanel classic black tuxedo dress styled by Park Min Hee, representing the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme with ease. The detailing, from the Blackpink singer’s pearl buttons and torso accessory, to the white band circling her chic pork pie hat, to the floral centerpiece at her chest, worked to tie the look together with cohesiveness and elegance.
Freen Sarocha
Freen Sarocha delivered a mix of elegance and edge in a custom Valentino look. Balancing structure and softness, the Thai actress wore a birch-colored crepe jacket with black marabou trim, paired with a slit, ruffled, black georgette skirt that moved aside with grace when she revealed her black lace bodysuit. Topping the look was a pink satin bow, tying the look together with subtle femininity.

LISA
Leave it to Lisa to turn the Met Gala into her own runway. The BLACKPINK star arrived in a daring Louis Vuitton look that reimagined classic tailoring with bold sensuality. Skipping pants entirely, she wore a form-fitting black blazer with sheer paneling and cheeky matching hot shorts, paired with logo-stamped tights that added a branded edge. With a black LV purse in hand, and a voluminous honey-blonde updo, Lisa proved that sophistication and risk-taking go hand in hand.
Kiara Advani
For her Met Gala debut, Bollywood star Kiara Advani delivered a powerful fashion moment in a custom Gaurav Gupta look titled Braveharts. The sculpted gold breastplate — crafted to resemble two hearts, one representing the mother and the other the baby — was connected by a delicate chain shaped like an umbilical cord, turning her ensemble into a radiant ode to motherhood. She completed the look with a dramatic double-paneled white cape, paying tribute to André Leon Talley’s legendary 2010 appearance. Glowing and unapologetically divine, Kiara redefined maternity wear on fashion’s biggest stage.
Priyanka Chopra
Playful yet elegant, Priyanka Chopra captivated at the 2025 Met Gala in a polka dot suit dress designed by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain. The structured yet effortlessly chic ensemble struck a perfect balance between bold style and timeless sophistication. From the vintage hat to the classic polka dot motif, the look echoed a refined sense of nostalgia. Adding to the drama, her strong, power-shouldered silhouette was accentuated by a striking emerald green necklace that commanded attention.
Rosé
Returning to the Met Gala for the first time since 2021, BlackPink member and singer of the global hit APT featuring Bruno Mars, Rośe walked the blue carpet donning an all-black ensemble designed by Yves Saint Laurent. The outfit features a low-cut jacket and structured pants to accentuate her stunning long legs. She adds some flare to the simple look with a long cape with puffed sleeves draped over her elbows and structured shoulder pads. A snowflake-like necklace featuring a large, blue gemstone and red open-toed heels add a pop of color to this chic styling.
Manish Malhotra
Legendary Indian designer Manish Malhotra brought the opulence of Indian couture to the Met steps in an embroidered cape coat layered over a silk shirt and an intricately detailed tie. The designer’s look was a love letter to craftsmanship — elevated, ornate, and unmistakably Malhotra. A golden elephant-face brooch added a subtle yet powerful nod to his heritage, while his presence felt especially impactful as the creative force behind Coco Jones’ custom look. Quiet luxury, but make it desi.
Diljit Dosanjh
Diljit Dosanjh made a majestic Met Gala debut in custom Prabal Gurung that channeled full Maharaja energy. The Indian pop icon arrived in a white sherwani-inspired ensemble, layered in jewelry and topped with a jewel-studded turban. From the sword at his side to the ornate detailing throughout, the look was a powerful celebration of Punjabi heritage.
Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling served tailored drama in a custom Harbison Studio tuxedo dress that reimagined blue carpet suiting with a bold twist. The look featured sharp tailoring, a satin white tie, and a statement cummerbund that doubled as a cascading train in deep red. Embellished with hints of blue and paired with Marco Bicego jewels, the ensemble felt equal parts polished and playful, proving once again that she’s always going to show up, show out, and show us how it’s done.
