Bask in the Love of Slow Travelling in Vietnam Through No Map Required: Volume One

No Map Required: Volume One is Jakarta-based Kiki Amalia’s debut self-published photobook — a quiet archive of memories from a transformative journey through Vietnam. This work goes beyond imagery; it captures rhythm in the streets, texture in the typography, life in the food, and beauty in the smallest, most unexpected corners.
From Anthony Bourdain to Vietnam
The idea of visiting Vietnam formed years earlier, after Amalia had watched an episode of Parts Unknown and heard Anthony Bourdain say, “Vietnam. It grabs you and doesn’t let you go.” That phrase lingered with her. And when she finally set foot in Vietnam, everything clicked — the colors, the chaos, the peace, the flavors — it all resonated deeply. This book is her quiet homage to that life-changing experience.
The project embraces the spirit of slow travel — an invitation to take time, to notice, and to experience places as they are, without agendas or checklists. No Map Required isn’t just a name — it signals the beginning of a personal series in which Amalia captures the essence of the places she visits, not through tourist routes and check-lists, but through instinct, observation, and emotion.
To celebrate the release, Amalia is hosting a small launch and installation at Sunset Limited store, Jakarta, where fragments of her journey will be brought into physical space.
Each book includes a special gift: a handcrafted incense created in collaboration with Tripie Supply. Blending notes of carnation, cherry, and tobacco, the scent was made especially for this launch to evoke the soul of old Vietnam — a quiet atmosphere captured in scent, meant to be taken home.
