Chopard hosted its annual Grand Soirée at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap-d’Antibes, Cannes on May 21. The grandiose event, titled “Once Upon a Time” is a celebration of exuberance, during which the Swiss joaillerie unveiled 77 new pieces as a nod to the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Artistic director Caroline Scheufele showcased both a high jewelry line and a couture collection at the event.

“Once Upon a Time”

Dreamy colors, natural decor, and oceanside views that rival even the most popular beach were all elements of this year’s Chopard Grand Soirée. Aptly titled “Once Upon a Time,” the event channeled the surreal nature of fairytales. Throughout the night, guests were treated to a series of live performances by renowned musicians. José Carreras, joined by French cellist Gautier Capuçon and pianist Lorenzo Bavai, performed cinema-inspired classics such as  “My Way” and “O Sole Mio.” Meanwhile, American disco icon Gloria Gaynor performed her most upbeat hits, including “I Will Survive.”

As part of the event itinerary, Scheufele’s newest high jewelry and couture collections were showcased for the first time. The “Red Carpet Collection” is Chopard’s signature high jewelry collection and features wearable and statement pieces. On the other hand, the “Caroline’s Couture” collection is the second installment of Scheufele’s name-brand clothing line. Featuring deep, vibrant hues and whimsical motifs, “Caroline’s Couture” reflected the event’s theme.

The Guest List

Chopard invited a cast of A-list celebrities to participate in its grand celebration. Film director and President of the Cannes Film Festival Jury, Greta Gerwig, attended wearing a low-cut gown from Dior’s Spring Summer 2024 collection and Chopard earrings. Model and certified it girl Bella Hadid wore a show-stopping backless gown pulled from Dsquared’s Fall Winter 2006 collection. Meanwhile, Demi Moore embraced a bright color palette in a canary yellow Oscar de la Renta gown decorated with flower appliques. Other notable attendees included Eva Green, Diana Kruger, Jacky Ickx, Bella Thorne, Yasmine Sabri and Peggy Gou
