Concert Recap: ONE OR EIGHT Captivate Fans During Their Final Tour Stop

ONE OR EIGHT, consisting of members Mizuki, Neo, Reia, Ryota, Souma, Take, Ru, Tsubasa, and Yuga, started their fanmeet tour “SHUKAI” earlier this year in Japan. After teasing international dates back in January, the group eventually made their way through the Americas, with Los Angeles being their last stop on April 23, 2025.
The group, formed through the survival documentary program WARPs DIG, spent a year training before their debut in 2024. This fanmeet in itself was a culmination of the hard work they’ve done as a group since their final lineup was released.
The fanmeeting’s title means “to gather” — and gather a crowd they sure did. At the Echoplex, an intimate venue holding about 200 people, you could hear the excited buzzing of their newly named fans, 1DERZ. With ONE OR EIGHT only having two stops in the States, many fans came to Los Angeles specifically for this meet. Fans from Atlanta, Houston, and even some from the band’s last stop in New York excitedly responded to the MC when she asked the crowd, “Who has traveled the furthest?”

Standout Performances
Don’t Tell Nobody: The group’s opening song and debut single, “Don’t Tell Nobody,” riled up the crowd the second it began with Neo’s first line. The eight members came out in full force, exhibiting their powerful dancing and clear vocals to this upbeat track. With a majority of this song’s lyrics being in English, the crowd screamed along in unison, hyping the boys up in the process and setting the mood for the rest of the show.
Kawasaki: “Kawasaki” may have slowed the tempo down, but it continued to build up the fans’ excitement. As their pre-debut track made in collaboration with Big Sean, this song highlighted another side of the group’s prowess: their talent as rappers and performers. With flips, formation changes, and a knowledge of when to add extra fan engagement, ONE OR EIGHT truly went all in.
Youngblood: Amidst all of their group performances, each member of the group got to have a special spotlight to perform either a solo or duo. When it came to Tsubasa, however, he took the stage and showcased why he was the group’s main vocalist. With his cover of “Youngblood” by 5 Seconds of Summer, he was able to captivate the audience with the emotion, vocal, and stage presence necessary for this song.

Truly for the Fans
With this being a mixture of a concert and a fanmeet, 1DERZ not only got to enjoy the performances, but also had an opportunity to see ONE OR EIGHT interact via Q&As and a variety of games.
It isn’t often that fans get to see their favorite members tease, joke, and be competitive with each other right in front of their eyes, and ONE OR EIGHT seemed just as excited to partake in the lighthearted activities. From their proclamations of wanting to go to Santa Monica, to all seven members conspiring against member Souma’s forgetfulness, there was never a dull moment. There was even a distinct “Souma, you gotta do better, man,” from a fan that even stirred the members to laugh in unison with the crowd.

Verdict
This was an evening that could turn a casual fan into a full fledged 1DERZ.
ONE OR EIGHT are in the early stages of their career, and with this comes a certain passion and hunger to show everyone what they’re capable of. Vocals? Check. Dancing? Check. Stage Presence? Double check.
What’s nice to note, however, is that this fanmeet went beyond just their talents. 1DERZ got to see the members collaborate, got to see how close they have gotten from their formation days, and got to see how well they work off one another, whether kicking a ball for a team competition or hitting dance moves completely in sync.
ONE OR EIGHT was able to captivate everyone in that room, and left every person there excited to see what they will do next.
