Manga Creators to Appear at Kodansha House 2025
Every Saturday and Sunday, the program will host three major manga creators for Q&A sessions and signings. Copies of all manga mentioned below will be available for pick-up at the Kodansha House.

Fujita, Author of Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku
In 2014, Fujita posted the first page of his rom-com Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku on the Japanese online artist platform Pixiv. By late 2015, the manga was serialized in Comic Pool, a joint web and manga publication project between Ichijinsha and Pixiv. Today, there are over 10 million copies in circulation, in addition to its own anime series and even a live-action film! At Kodansha House, Fujita will discuss the journey of his series from an amateur web project to one of the manga community’s favorite rom-coms.
Atsushi Ohkubo, Author of Fire Force
Atsushi Ohkubo is a prolific manga artist best known for his work on Fire Force and Soul Eater, both of which have been adapted into anime series. He has also contributed to video games such as Lord of Vermillion, Bravely Default, and Bravely Second: End Layer. At Kodansha House, Ohkubo will discuss the making of Fire Force and bring fans into the world of third-generation pyrokinetic youth and hero Shinra Kusakabe.
Suu Morishita, Author of A Sign of Affection
Suu Morishita has produced some of the most beloved shojo manga in the past decade, including Shortcake Cake, Like a Butterfly, and the currently-running series A Sign of Affection. Now in its twelfth volume, the story follows the blossoming romance between college student Yuki Itose and multilingual traveler Itsuomi Nagi. At Kodansha House, Morishita will discuss the origins of A Sign of Affection, the process of accurately representing a deaf character, and more.
