ENHYPEN dives headfirst into untamed passion with their newest album DESIRE: UNLEASH, released on June 6. Make You Mine

The seven boys of ENHYPEN — Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki — flip the switch from the soft pinks of their last EP ROMANCE: UNTOLD and the lavender blues of its repacked ROMANCE: UNTOLD -daydream- to a sleek black. Building anticipation for their comeback, ENHYPEN unveiled three distinct concepts, each exploring a different stage of desire: MAKE, YOU, MINE.

MAKE channels corporate-chic energy with a sinister twist. The members exude control and composure, their hands bound, masks barely concealing the chaos underneath. With cold stares, sharp thorns, and blood stains, the members have us biting our lips in anticipation. Even leader Jungwon raises fans’ eyebrows in his preview video. Is that a chainsaw he’s holding? YOU takes a more tortured turn. Trapped in a remote cabin, the seven appear as frustrated, ravenous vampires teetering on the edge of self-control. Tension crackles as they wrestle with their cravings — and with each other. MINE unleashes their desire in full. Here, they become dark, untethered creatures, fully consumed and bathing in their desire. There’s no restraint — just raw hunger and liberation (or damnation).

What’s Your Desire?

ENHYPEN channels their inner movie star once again with their latest Concept Cinema, “Desire,” which deepens their ever-evolving vampire lore. It’s a thrilling, blood-soaked follow-up to their previous “Untold” Concept Cinema.

Under a crimson full moon, the seven vampires of ENHYPEN roam the night, each driven by their own motives. Jay and Jake play dual-personas on a late-night talk show. Jay is cold and calculating, while Jake visibly struggles to maintain control, haunted by his bloodthirst. In a chilling moment, Jay states, “Desire. That’s the one thing that never dies.”

Meanwhile, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Jungwon fully embrace their inner villains. Elsewhere, Heeseung and Ni-ki, another dual-persona, isolate themselves in a desolate, cob-webbed mansion. A shadowy creature — desire, itself — lurks throughout the film, whispering illusions into Heeseung’s mind and looming over Jake and Jay’s shoulders. “You desire to destroy the things you love,” it hisses. The ending is just as chaotic as the film itself….but that’s enough spoiling for now! Just know it’ll leave you breathless and wanting more. So, what’s your desire?

Can’t Stop Fire

The album starts with a bang (literally) with the high-voltage intro track, “Flashover.” The title  refers to a term that describes the explosive ignition of all flammable materials in a given space. Fusing melodic bass and dubstep to mirror the chaos of emotional combustion, this EDM-heavy opener ignites the intensity as ENHYPEN begins their sonic descent into desire.

Lyrically, “Flashover” is a tug-of-war between self-control and surrender. Fire imagery burns through every line. Sunoo sets the pre-chorus ablaze with the line, “Energy that’s about to explode / Desire that’s burning inside me.” Sunghoon fuels the fire with “It’s burning even more, I’m going crazy. You should take this fire with me.” Then, just as the pressure peaks, the beat drops with a harmonized chorus: “I can’t stop me, stop me. Stop this fire.” “Flashover” makes one thing clear — ENHYPEN’s obsession is only getting hotter, and their passion is coming to swallow you whole.

With or Without You

The title song, “Bad Desire (With or Without You),” is deliciously dramatic. Forbidden love letter meets full-on emotional meltdown set to a dangerously catchy beat in this track. ENHYPEN dives headfirst into the chaos of craving, where their most heartfelt intentions spiral into obsession. Heeseung tries to play the hero in the opening with “I want to protect you,” while, like a warning siren, Jake’s part screams, “This isn’t right, don’t touch, don’t do it.”

As the song progresses, the boys attempt to restrain themselves, but unfortunately, desire doesn’t come with a pause button. Before you know it, they’re spiraling into poetic contradictions like “A heaven without you must be like hell,” and “A hell where I embrace you must be like heaven.” Things get even more unhinged in the ending, as Ni-ki whispers, “Tell me all your deepest…” followed by Heeseung’s breathy mic-drop, “All your bad desires.” The song is sensual, messy, and unholy, exactly how we like it.

The music video matches the song’s epic theatrics, with members facing off against shadowy versions of themselves — physical manifestations of their deepest, most dangerous desires. Set against a backdrop of fiery hellscapes and fleeting glimpses of heaven, the seven vampires drift through a surreal dreamworld. It’s a clash of purity versus temptation, light battling against dark. Even as they’re falling from heaven into hell, every member looks stylish, cool, and devastatingly handsome. It wouldn’t be ENHYPEN without explosive choreography, adding even more spunk to the track. With sharp, sweeping movements, the members’ yearning and desperate expressions will enthrall you into falling for them (or with them).

Letting Loose Adrenaline

The next track, “Outside,” has the boys coming full throttle into this new genre exploration. This heavy-hitting hip-hop song is loud, unfiltered, and absolutely dripping with charisma. Right from the jump, Heeseung sets the tone. “Yeah, drivin’ hard, I’m tired with that question mark/ Pretty boy? No, I’m not, sound the red alert,” the eldest raps. Manners and politeness are left at the door as the boys bare their fangs and their confidence. Sung by the youngest member, Ni-ki, the addictive hook, “We be outside,” cranks the adrenaline even higher with its grittiness. Listening feels like riding shotgun in a midnight street race, where the city lights are a blur and there’s no brakes in sight.

“Loose (Korean Ver.)” may not be a new sound to ENGENE, but trust this version to still turn up the heat. After making its global debut in English on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Jennifer Hudson Show, “Loose” returns fully in Korean — and it’s giving sultry, sweaty, and oh-so-playful. With a groovy baseline, funky rhythm, and striking guitar riffs, the track feels like a flirtatious game of eye contact held just a second too long. Sunghoon’s tantalizing tone sweeps us up into his charm as he sings, “Everything’s mute except our breath / Just us two alone in this room.” Jake follows with his velvet vocals as he invites listeners to “Let your heart lead, let your body loose.” The song builds an atmosphere so steamy, you can’t help but give in to the magnetic temptation.

Love’s Too Hot

The fifth track, “Helium,” is ENHYPEN’s love-drunk high-speed confession wrapped in rock-pop. It’s as uplifting as the title suggests. Co-produced by FRANTS and member Jay, the track moves fast and hits hard — like falling headfirst into infatuation and sending your heart into an euphoric freefall. Jay and Jungwon kick off the track, tag-teaming the intro chorus. “You are my breath and the air that keeps me alive,” Jay professes, followed by Jungwon’s ear-tingling reply, “Drinking your love is helium.” As the song builds, Jay’s soaring, “Every time I breathe you, I ecstatically fly away,” meets Jungwon’s brain-scratching line, “Keep drinking, your love is helium.”

Beneath the electrifying sound of the pounding percussion lies a tender metaphor woven into each lyric. Jay, in a Weverse livestream, explained that ENHYPEN are the balloon, and ENGENE’s love is the helium. Their fans are the invisible force lifting him and the other members higher, keeping them alive. “Helium” pulses with devotion, designed to make you feel like you’ve left the ground entirely.

“Too Close” slows the album’s pulse just enough to let your heart flutter and skip a soft beat. The sixth track adds a flirty, dangerously cute twist to ENHYPEN’s exploration of desire. It’s a sonic embodiment of stolen glances and lingering touches. For us at EnVi, “Too Close” sits at the same table as past fan-favorites like “Royalty” and “10 Months.” This time, the boys are older and way more self-aware. Jungwon gets playful with his lines: “Too close, really dangerous distance / You so bad, I gotta move back / I’m so greedy. I’m so into you.” It’s Sunno who delivers the final blow, winning your heart and ears with his near-whispered confession in the outro: “In fact, I want you more than you / I can’t hold it in anymore, I’m so into you.” The song may talk about keeping distance, but no one’s moving away. Instead, ENHYPEN is moving closer to your heart.

Can’t Get Enough

ENHYPEN never fails to deliver when it comes to English versions. The final stretch of DESIRE: UNLEASH proves just that. Wrapping up the album are English renditions of “Bad Desire (With or Without You)” and “Loose.”

“Bad Desire (With or Without You) (English Version)” trades the emotional pull of the Korean version for something more raw and physical. The boys step fully into their villain arc, corrupted by longing and torn between self-restraint and surrender. Jake and Sunghoon echo the struggle with lines like, “Innocent girl, don’t touch, don’t do it. / Don’t wanna take your golden light.” It pulls you right back to the early 2010s — think Justin Timberlake’s “Mirrors,” but darker and with vampire fangs. “Loose” then slides in to close off the album on a familiar groovy, flirtatious note. If the rest of DESIRE: UNLEASH was about spiraling into desire, this ending? It’s ENHYPEN enjoying the fall and grooving with it, fully unrestrained.
