Get ready to tap into the stars with idol girl group cosmosy as they step into the limelight. Composed of four Japanese members — Himesha, De_Hana, Kamión, and A’Mei — cosmosy first caught attention with their pre-debut track “Zigy=Zigy” in December 2024. They officially debuted with their latest single “Lucky=One” this past April. The group was created by SINXITY, former creative director of BLACKPINK, who has led creative teams that have worked with other K-pop artists like aespa, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, TXT, IU, Red Velvet, and more.

Cosmos of Youth

The origins of cosmosy lay within their name, which means “Cosmos of Youth.” Their group name symbolizes the possibilities of youth, the challenges of growth, and the infinite universe — a powerful message for young fans. Himesha, De_Hana, Kamión, and A’Mei all bring individual charm and skills to cosmosy from their previous experiences. While Himesha and A’Mei have been dancing since they were young, Kamión and De_Hana brought in experience from participating in survival shows. “I realized that it was so fun and exciting to perform on a big stage,” Kamión said, encapsulating the rest of the girls’ passions for music. “Then I felt like I wanted to stand again on the stage.”

Cosmosy’s distinct fusion of J-pop and K-pop influences set them apart as a fresh force in the global music scene. Their unique concept has left many intrigued. “Our concept has three phases: First [is] students, second is girl warriors, and third is Idols,” Himesha said. In their music videos, cosmosy embodies these three phases in a fantasy world. It’s magical but takes a slightly darker turn.

De_Hana followed up by saying, “Our concept has kind of retro and mysterious and a little bit horror vibes.” Along with these different styles, they incorporate 2D elements for the monsters they fight. Their two songs “Zigy=Zigy” and “Lucky=One” embark on different apocalyptic takes on the “a(e)nd” of the world. Incorporating horror elements with youthful visuals, leaves viewers on edge with their storyline. Meanwhile, the lyrics deliver a bold contrast from the concept, showcasing the group’s message to empower young fans to embrace themselves and explore boundless creativity.

Zigy=Zigy

Cosmosy introduced themselves to the world in December 2024 with their pre-debut track “Zigy=Zigy.” The quartet has proved their global card through singing in Japanese, Korean, and English. “We work hard and we [are] trying to speak more, a lot of languages and more globally,” De_Hana expressed. She mentioned “Zigy=Zigy” being hard to learn while learning Korean but their hard work has paid off. The track quickly gained momentum, amassing over 10 million views and solidifying cosmosy as a rising force to watch. “Zigy=Zigy” delivers a hard hitting beat with fresh catchy hooks and youthful energy.

The beginning of the music video starts with an eerie tone as Himesha stands in front of television boxes. The girls unleash otherworldly energy in their school, propelling them to face the dark forces head on. The end of the music video is revealed to be a dream, or so it seems. The girls take a selfie together while the other students in the room glitch, giving off an uncanny end.

Lucky=One

What makes you feel lucky? To cosmosy, it’s being alive and becoming artists. Their debut single “Lucky=One” dropped in April and continues to unfold the quartet’s cosmic fairytale world. The track is framed through the lens of serendipitous connections and chance that deepens into destiny. Lyrics like “Betcha never thought you’d strike this gold / That I’m the la-la-la lucky one” radiate charm and confidence, capturing the group’s playful assurance that luck is on their side. “Lucky=One” is inspired by the tropical house genre and blends smooth synthesizer sounds with pop lyrics. Unlike “Zigy=Zigy,” this track is written with all English lyrics, highlighting the early beginnings of cosmosy’s versatility.

The song is paired with a cinematic music video that shows cosmosy in their storyline as school girls, idols, and elves. It brings listeners into their magical world, where they fight to defeat a villain causing havoc in the real world. The scenes blend soft glowy visuals with vibrant color palettes that help bring their whimsical concept to life. “Lucky=One” drew widespread attention with their striking visuals as elves, adding a different touch to global pop groups. “Getting ready for [the] elf costume took a lot of time. It took almost 5 to 6 hours,” De_Hana said as she recounted her memorable experience from filming “Lucky=One.”

For Kamión, filming the final scenes of the music video were moments she wouldn’t forget. “[There] was a scene of dancing surrounded by many, many people. It [was so] touching for me and I actually almost cried,” she said.

Beyond the Stars

Cosmosy are only at the beginning of their journey, with an entire universe of possibilities ahead. They also want to remind their fans that they too have infinite possibilities to discover and explore. “I want [fans] to listen [to] our music and feel happy,” Kamión further mentioned. Their time in New York gave a special opportunity to meet their fans for the first time since their debut.
