On October 6, WWD Korea announced a collaboration between NCT DREAM’s Na Jaemin, global luxury brand Tom Ford, and world-renowned fashion photographer Adam Katz Sinding for their second special edition issue. The announcement was accompanied by a picture, taken by Sinding, of Jaemin wearing a classic Tom Ford suit. A WWD official shared that the motivation behind the project was to, “create a special pictorial that could communicate with global readers through collaborations between K-pop stars, world-class brands, and photographers.”

In addition to the cover, Jaemin will be featured in a 25-page pictorial that includes a special interview. WWD Korea also mentioned that pictures of the filming site, taken by Jaemin himself, are to be revealed in the issue. Leading up to the release of the issue, photo and video content will be released back-to-back through WWD Korea’s social media and Tom Ford’s KakaoTalk Channels.

Past Projects

Jaemin, a member of the hit boy band NCT DREAM, is no newbie for collaborating with big brands. The unexpected collaboration between him and Adobe last August is the perfect proof of the statement. Through the collaboration, he showcased his love for photography and photo editing. His love for taking pictures knows no bounds as Sinding shared with fans that Jaemin asked him to take photos using the idol’s personal camera.

Although this isn’t the idol’s first solo pictorial, this WWD Special Edition issue is the first time Jaemin appears solo on a magazine cover. Jaemin had previously done pictorials for Nylon Korea in 2019 and Allure Korea in 2020.

The Man Behind the Camera

Adam Katz Sinding is a Copenhagen-based photographer that has worked with many global fashion brands such as Ann Demeulemeester, Fendi, Rick Owens, Givenchy, Tom Ford, and many more. Sinding flew to Korea from Denmark to participate in the project and expressed his excitement on Instagram as he reposted stories and replied to fans’ messages about the photoshoot.

Jaemin’s Custom Fit

For this project, Tom Ford sent their newest collection abroad, including exclusive pieces that aren’t yet available in Korea. The luxury brand put together casual yet luxurious looks for the 22- year old, including a suit that, “Tom Ford personally styled exclusively for Jaemin.”

Tom Ford x K-pop

Tom Ford is no stranger to the K-pop scene. Previously, NCT 127’s Yuta was featured in a Tom Ford Beauty campaign for Vogue Japan. GOT7’s Jinyoung has also modeled for the beauty brand, promoting both their cologne and makeup. Additionally, MONSTA X’s Shownu and soloist Wonho worked with Tom Ford Beauty for their collaboration with Elle Korea.

The issue is set to be released on the 20th of October and is available for pre-order through major retailers such as K-Town 4U, Aladin, Yes24, and Kyobo starting from October 6th.
