NCT’s leader, Taeyong, might have already made a name for himself as a fashion trendsetter, but the K-pop star is surprisingly new to the fashion circuit. His Paris Fashion Week (PFW) debut, however, felt particularly well-timed following his bandmates’ Fashion Week appearances in New York and Milan. After flying in exclusively for the occasion, Taeyong graced the first row of LOEWE’s Fall Winter 2023 show, proving once again NCT’s rising popularity and status as it boys.
A Quintessential LOEWE Look
While much has been said about Taeyong’s style affinities, the star still offered a masterclass on occasion-appropriate fashion for his first PFW appearance. To start off this — literal — new fashion journey, the singer showed up at Incheon airport dressed in a comfy but fashion-savvy outfit. The total LOEWE look featured jogging trousers, a hoodie, and a white T-shirt. However, the real upgrade came courtesy of LOEWE’s signature Puzzle bag and Taeyong’s recently debuted hairstyle. Channeling bygone eras’ heartthrobs, NCT’s leader embraced a middle-length blonde hairstyle that nodded at the ’90s-infused hair frosting revival.
Once in The City of Lights, Taeyong leveled up for his front-row introduction. Dressed in an outfit befitting of a style icon, the singer arrived at Château de Vincennes, causing havoc among screaming fans. Taeyong sported key items from LOEWE’s lauded SS23 Menswear collection — namely a camel puffer shirt layered on top of a tank top and paired with black Puzzle cropped trousers. For finishing touches, the Korean superstar went for a pair of mid-calf socks, Chelsea boots, and a subtle silver necklace. Mixing his personal style and LOEWE’s fashion-forward designs, Taeyong’s look carried his street style-leaning preferences to a tee. Taeyong also juggled menswear and beauty trends recently spotted on the runways with a slicked-back hairstyle and natural, slightly dewy makeup.
Taeyong’s and NCT’s Fashion Prowess
With several accolades and viral style moments, Taeyong doesn’t need to prove his fashion credentials. Nevertheless, his attendance at LOEWE’s collection unveiling in the ultimate fashion capital — Paris — adds yet another milestone to the star’s resumé. It also continues to cement NCT’s reputation as one of the most sought-after K-pop bands in the fashion industry.
In a short span of time, NCT has risen to sartorial fame through important associations with the biggest brands in the world and attendance at the most important fashion events. Be it on the covers of magazines, the front rows, or the red carpets, the group has commanded worldwide attention, becoming a top performer for brands. Alison Bringé, Chief Marketing Officer of the fashion software and data company, Launchmetrics, recently shared with EnVi, “NCT has emerged as one of the K-pop star groups seen on numerous front rows and bringing a significant uplift in brand exposure during Fashion Weeks.”
Taeyong’s Fashion Week debut further demonstrates his own and NCT’s fashion prowess. It also raises expectations for the singer’s association with LOEWE, a brand he has been fostering a friendship with for quite some time.
