aoen – “The Blue Sun”
YX Labels, formerly HYBE LABELS JAPAN, just debuted their newest team, aoen! The lucky seven members are finalists from the survival program, OEN HIGH. Members YUJU, RUKA, GAKU, HAKU, SOTA, KYOSUKE, and REO are shining in their debut single, “The Blue Sun.” The upbeat pop song is carried by a groovy bassline sure to have listeners moving along. “The Blue Sun” is a confidence-booster perfect for the summer heat. Aoen encourage listeners to escape from their troubles with their uplifting music. GAKU and HAKU share a heartwarming embrace in the music video and sing, “All in, fall down seven times, get up eight / There’s no fun in perfection / It’s time to let it all out, one & only.”
The music video kicks off with iconic Tokyo views, then viewers are transported into a fantasy-like world with campy visuals. The septet enjoy each other’s company in colorful sets and equally colorful outfits. Aoen’s happiness oozes through the screen — infecting audiences with a smile as they reach for the replay button! BINI – “Shagidi”
The eight-piece P-pop sensation, BINI, embrace their heritage and invite listeners everywhere to join in on the fun with their special tour single, “Shagidi!” The song is a dance-funk twist on the traditional Filipino children’s game of the same name. The game involves one player who starts the movement off, then the next player in line must follow their movements a beat later. When joining in, you chant “Shagidi shagidi shapopo.” The game requires both rhythm and attention to detail — which is showcased in BINI’s clever choreography for the song.
BINI boast their unshakable confidence in both Tagalog and English lyrics. The reference to the game is a sly metaphor for how BINI can’t be surpassed. BINI encourage audiences to “do their dance,” but just like the game, they doubt others can catch up. They sing, “You might be slick but / You aint slicker than me / You might be 4, 3, 2 / But I’m 1, 2, 3.” BINI can’t be beaten at their own game, and they are ready to show their Filipino pride to the world. Naniwa Danshi – “GIRA GIRA SUMMER”
Need an instant dopamine boost? Naniwa Danshi’s “GIRA GIRA SUMMER” is the sonic sunshine you’ve been waiting for. The newest single from their upcoming fourth studio album BON BON VOYAGE is an explosion of joy, tailor-made for summer celebrations. Bold and red, Mad Tsai’s “BITE” is ready to snatch you by the throat. Rest assured, you’ll love every second of it. Dramatic and dripping with desire, the track is thunderous. The heavy, cinematic intensity of the melody swells with pounding beats, allowing for his breathy, sensual vocals to slither through. The track is equal parts temptation and threat. “Bite, send shivers down your spine / Boy, I’ll eat you alive,” he sings as a warning, but it sounds more like a dare. Jackson Wang – “Hate to Love”
Jackson Wang’s “Hate to Love” is a slow-burn, brooding moment. With glossy R&B textures and moody electronic pulses, the track is the moment when your heart breaks, but your blood boils with rage. There’s pain in every lyric, and underneath the melancholy lies a restrained fury. “Why do you hate to love me? / ‘Cause all along I thought you were blood,” sing Jackson.
