Gucci presented its Spring 2024 menswear collection as part of Milan Fashion Week on June 16. While the carousel of seasonal looks was released as a photo book, the collection drop inaugurated the Horsebit loafer anniversary exhibition. Celebrating 70 years of the iconic piece, Alessio Ascari, curator of Spazio Maiocchi in central Milan, created a multi-faceted, immersive experience that also served to showcase Gucci’s menswear offerings.

The collection put a modern touch on classic silhouettes and fabrics, playing with oversized fits and evergreen textures. And to ring in the new line, the brand tapped Thai star Gulf Kanawut for a timely, and well-received Instagram post featuring Gucci staples.

Gulf x Gucci

After becoming Gucci’s first male friend of the house for Thailand, Gulf Kanawut is on his way to becoming a fixture at the brand’s events all over the globe. Gaining attention from his appearance at the Gucci Cruise 2024 presentation in Seoul, the actor’s popularity among fashion circles has been growing rapidly due to his swoon-worthy looks and bountiful acting career. Needless to say, the actor’s every fashion move attracts plenty of attention. His latest Instagram post, featuring a total Gucci look, was no different.

Gulf’s Take on the Canadian Tuxedo

Commemorating the Italian house’s summertime collection, the actor shared a carousel of pictures on his social media account. In the photos, the actor sports Gucci items from head to toe. Gulf kept it appropriately light in a dressed-down luxury look to match the summer season. Wearing a washed denim vest over matching washed denim trousers, Gulf made a case for the Canadian tuxedo and proved that simplicity can also be stylish. Gucci’s signature emblem, the tan GG motif, accented the otherwise monochromatic ensemble. The star maintained a subtle minimalist theme with his accessories, wearing only the Gucci Dive Watch on his wrist. Completing the look was a black Jackie 1961 bag, which contrasted against the bright outfit.

Beauty to Match

Boy-next-door chic was the perfect theme for Gulf’s casual but polished beauty look. Styled with a little bit of matte pomade for hold and texture, the Thai actor’s dark brown bangs accentuated his striking bone structure. Minimal foundation and concealer were used to achieve a skin-like flawless base. Gulf’s brows were refined with a cocoa brown brow powder and gel to keep them in place. The finishing touch was a thin layer of peach-tinted lip balm to mimic his natural tone and give the lips a healthy supple appearance. This refined yet causal beauty look was the perfect bright and peppy partner to the light Gucci ensemble.

The Canadian Tuxedo

A timeless style formula, the denim-on-denim look is a celebrity favorite. The style has been sported in endless ways by celebrities across the board and is part of every A-lister’s wardrobe. However, Gulf’s Gucci spin on the Canadian tuxedo offers a refreshing and timely option for the summer. It also adds a fun logomania twist that contrasts with the ongoing quiet luxury craze taking over fashion.
