Thai stars are making waves internationally with their fantastic style. From store openings in New York to front rows in India, these popular artists keep sojourning around the world for the most coveted fashion events. The latest household names making headlines with their sartorial choices are actors Davika Hoorne and Kanawut Traipipattanapong — also known as Gulf.  

Touching Down in Seoul 

As part of the A-plus celebrity guestlist arriving in Seoul for Gucci’s Cruise 2024 presentation, the Thai icons Davika and Gulf have been turning heads with their stylish looks. The stars — who are well-known friends of the Italian house — have put their personal flair to Gucci staples throughout their trip. 

On one hand, Davika — who is a total fashion darling — returned to Seoul after a brief visit to Venice. Prior to her stop in Italy, the actress had already been in town as one of the VIPs attending the launch of Jennie’s capsule collection with Calvin Klein. 

Meanwhile, Gulf shared his voyage on Instagram. In the social media post, the actor nailed airport fashion with an ensemble that mixed comfort and style. His outfit included a blue nylon tracksuit from Gucci’s collaboration with Adidas. Additionally, Gulf sported a black Gucci Horsebit 1955 bag and was also photographed carrying an Aluminum GG cabin trolley.

Dining in Style

Ahead of the fashion show, Davika and Gulf attended a VIP dinner organized by Gucci. Flaunting her recently debuted red hair, Davika put a spin on preppy fashion, dressed in a matching set by the Italian brand. The beige number featured Gucci’s signature stripes and was paired with a light blue blouse and a black neck bow. At the gathering, Davika posed with fellow Gucci friends and ambassadors, including Alia Bhatt, Saoirse Ronan, and Ayaka Miyoshi. 

Likewise, Gulf opted for a casual but polished outfit consisting of black wide-leg pants and a blue shirt. He layered the look with a cotton jacquard sweater featuring the brand’s GG logo. For an added Gucci touch, the actor topped off the look with monogrammed, thick-sole sneakers and a Jackie 1961 bag. The outfit echoed the preppy aesthetics that many of Gucci’s equestrian-inspired looks champion. 

Statement Fashion for the Front Row 

Sitting front and center at the unveiling of Gucci’s Cruise collection, Davika and Gulf continue to stun with their elevated style. The Astrophile actress, who is a regular at nearly every Gucci event, demonstrated her modern elegance in a black lace halter dress and white fur coat. She then completed the look with a Jackie 1961 mini shoulder bag and high-heel patent pumps. The outfit was equal parts edgy, chic, and totally trendy as it featured a bow detail around the neck — an element that has gained track on the runways.

As she celebrated her 31st birthday on the day of the show, Davika’s glam outfit also made the perfect birthday look. The Thai darling was pictured with several Asian stars, including Gucci’s global ambassador, IU, who coincidentally happened to be turning 30 on the same day. 

On the other hand, Gulf — who is globally recognized for his roles in productions like TharnType: The Series (2019) and You Are My Make Up Artist (2022) — served up the perfect modern-vintage ensemble. The actor proved his versatility and ability to make any outfit occasion-appropriate by going for a sportswear look that channeled the Gucci Cruise’s merging of past and present.

Gulf’s outfit comprised blue pants and a matching racing jacket, both infused with ’90s aesthetics and racercore motifs.  His choice of accessories stood in stark contrast. The star complemented the fit with heeled monogrammed boots and, yet again, a black Jackie 1961 bag — that’s what we call consistency!

With Thai stars acing the style game time after time and Thailand’s rising prominence as one of Asia’s most relevant fashion hubs, there is no doubt the world has its eyes on the country and its popular artists. After nailing their appearance at Gucci’s most recent event, Davika and Gulf — along with their flawless style — give us reasons to keep anticipating more of Thai entertainment’s global takeover.
