TOMORROW X TOGETHER, also known as TXT, are rocking fans’ hearts with their latest album The Star Chapter: TOGETHER. Released on July 21, the final installment of The Star Chapter, which is a continuation of the narrative in their 7th mini-album The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY, features eight tracks, including five solo songs. SOOBIN, YEONJUN, BEOMGYU, TAEHYUN, and HUENING KAI have geared up to close up their final chapter of their storyline from the past six years.

Their lore begins in youth, when the boys find comfort in each other until they begin to grow up and drift apart. “Nap of a Star” explains the beginning of their story, when TXT makes a promise to a star in the sky that they will all meet again if they grow apart. Eventually they did, causing the star to fall asleep and cast a darkness across the nighttime sky. Throughout their previous albums, TXT ran away from reality, explored the inner struggles of love and friendship, and eventually examined the meaning of finding their true selves.

The Star Chapter: TOGETHER highlights different expressions of “togetherness,” capturing a range of emotions and experiences. The album tells a story of salvation through profound acts of recognizing and calling out each other’s names, which emphasizes the power of human connection and empathy. As a continuation of their storyline, the boys dive into love, reflection, and reunion in this final chapter.

Feel the Rhythm Together

Starting the album off on a playful note, “Upside Down Kiss” is a hip-hop track with funky beats and mischievous lines. The track that had MOA, their fans, thrown in for a loop is just as expected: steamy and frisky. In an upside down world where gravity knows no boundaries, “Upside Down Kiss” focuses on an unwavering devotion to a romantic interest. Hypnotic lyrics like “Keep your eyes on me” and “I’ll kiss you just the way I am” undeniably pull listeners into their trance-like spell.

The first solo of the album, “Ghost Girl,” is a moody track sung by YEONJUN. It’s layered with synth beats, bass riffs, and dynamic drums. YEONJUN channels his yearning for a lost romantic interest who has disappeared from his life. To soothe the suffocating feeling of this person’s absence, he is willing to give up everything for them. Even if it means having them in his life as “his ghost girl,” he’ll continue to pour himself into their connection. Listeners can feel the irresistible pull of this fatal love when he sings lines like, “Even after pouring out my whole soul, I still offer you my heart again” and “I’ll forget everything while losing myself, the real world.”

YEONJUN taps into a moody yearning concept in his music video, as he trails the ghost of this person through a dark, atmospheric city setting. He’s also seen painting different portraits of them. These visuals paired with “Ghost Girl” show that he is willing to do anything to keep the memory of that person fresh.

Continuing to amp up the heat, HUENING KAI’s solo “Dance With You” is a groovy track with flirtatious lyrics. Throughout the song, there’s an alluring desire to understand and get closer to someone through matching steps and getting in rhythm together. “A dance we share, heart to heart / Completely entrusting myself to you, you to me / Two becoming onе,” he sings in the chorus, followed by whispered lines, “I wanna dance with you.” HUENING KAI’s music video continues to tap into his more mature side, featuring scenes of him dancing under red lighting in an empty restaurant and on a rooftop overlooking a cityscape. Arriving as an amorous invite to step into the dance of love, “Dance With You” shows a more romantic side to The Star Chapter: TOGETHER.

Slowing Down to Appreciate Connection

SOOBIN invites MOA to kick back and unwind with “Sunday Driver,” his solo song. Arriving at summer’s peak, this romantic upbeat track lets listeners leave behind their worries and experience a more carefree moment. Daydreaming where to go next, nothing matters as he sings, “My destination is always everywhere next to you.”

In SOOBIN’s music video, he’s seen trying to fix his car with no luck. Through accepting his circumstances, he takes in the present, finding joy through a plant friend in the passenger seat and basking under the sun. The video emphasizes that even when things go wrong, being more present can serve as a pleasant redirection. “Sunday Driver” uplifts listeners to take things slow and enjoy the simple things, like a Sunday afternoon.

BEOMGYU continues to touch fans with emotionally charged tracks in his latest solo “Take My Half.” Light chord progressions carry a hopeful sentiment — one that feels like a warm hug after reaching the light at the end of the tunnel. BEOMGYU welcomes listeners with an embrace and shows that it’s okay to share yourself with others even if you don’t feel whole yourself. “When I’ll give you half of myself / The empty space I gave you is now filled with happiness / You can take my half,” he heartfully sings.

The music video for “Take My Half” shows BEOMGYU in a serene-like setting: alone inside a sunken hot air balloon in a field. Walking between different settings from the perspective of a cracked lens, BEOMGYU stays on the darker, gloomier side. Potentially signifying the quiet that comes after accepting your circumstances and being happy to give half of yourself to someone else, this vulnerable pop rock track opens a door to healing through togetherness.

Slowing down the album and simulating a restful night when everything and everyone has gone to sleep, TAEHYUN’s solo “Bird of Night” quietly reflects on questions like “What does it mean to become an adult?” and how to move forward to tomorrow. The track emphasizes that even darkness does not last and can help the stars shine even brighter. “The deeper the darkness, the brighter this night shines / That starlight that won’t waver,” TAEHYUN sings. Another song to soothe your soul, “Bird of Night” blends delicate piano flutters with calm pop-trap beats, perfectly complimenting his soft vocals.

Hazy visuals evoke nostalgia in TAEHYUN’s music video. VHS tapes and the camcorder that TAEHYUN uses throughout the clip might allude to a log of memories that one may be holding onto. These scenes serve to create the dreamy feeling of being the only one awake in a sleeping city. “Bird of Night” is a comfort song to carry you through sleepless nights. Even if you find yourself alone and questioning past experiences, this dreamy song encourages listeners to spread their wings and fly.

Beautiful Strangers

Echoing remnants of TXT’s choreography and musical sound from over the years, “Beautiful Strangers” is a track that hits deep for fans. “We do it for love / Don’t forget, forever / Still, we do it for love / Let’s not be afraid together / We’re beautiful strangers,” SOOBIN and YEONJUN sing as they open the track. The music video flashes through different cinematic scenes, from YEONJUN and SOOBIN speeding away from the police to the entire group facing each other with their scars glowing. As the track continues to build off their lore, it proves that facing challenges is not scary as long as they have each other. TXT are committed to saving each other, even if they can’t remember each other.

Remembering the Star

Song of the Stars” is a heartfelt track where TXT finally remembers who they are to each other, according to their story. In the concept trailer, the members are seen fighting in the beginning before going their separate ways — only to find themselves in a chaotic brawl. Fighting each other one by one, flashes of parallel lives where they know each other start to flash in their minds, and they slowly start to remember each other. As they try to save each other and escape the crowd, they notice SOOBIN floating in the air. The four of them realize they need to save him, running between their parallel lives in the magical world and reality. At the end of the music video, they reach and greet SOOBIN with a hug as they realize they saved him, which symbolically illustrates that TXT have saved “Tomorrow,” SOOBIN’s true name.

The lyrics dive into the lore of their story as they finally awaken to their true selves. With touching lines like “Who would remember me / Then suddenly, I heard it, the first time my name was called,” and “Following the voices of the stars / You and I singing together / Lyrics of eternity that will remember each other,” TXT start to recall their true selves and remember the promise they made to the star: a promise to remember each other and the star’s name, an integral part of them saving the world. “Song of the Stars” is the song they tried to remember but once forgot. Once they come together again and remember, they create peace in the world and save each other.

“Song of the Stars” is a pop rock anthem that evokes nostalgia for the days of youth and being together with close friends. It is a song that brought the five back together despite their growing pains and beautifully wraps up this chapter of their lives. They vow to “move forward Tomorrow, Together,” accepting that, in order to get through life, the better path will always be to stick by each other’s side.
