After speculation about her presence in New York City over the past few days, Jennie Kim took the internet by storm with her return to the Met Gala. A year after her first attendance at the event, Jennie made her comeback in a drastically different, but equally show-stopping look — an Alaïa royal blue gown paired with a sophisticated up-do.

Beauty in Blue

Jennie was first spotted coming out of The Mark Hotel on the Upper East Side to a crowd of awaiting fans and photographers. The multi-hyphenate talent made a bold appearance in a royal blue minidress with a trailing cap, custom-made by the Parisian label Alaïa (founded by the late Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaïa). With a mock neckline and midriff cut-out detail, Jennie’s dress capitalized on contrasting elements and asymmetry. Her monochromatic outfit was complete with simple blue heels and a jewelry set comprising pearl earrings and a matching waist chain.

A subtle glimmering eyeshadow base and bold eyeliner complemented Jennie’s color palette for the evening. The singer paired her understated makeup with an elaborate hairdo that epitomized elegance.
