WOODZ Speaks to The Soul in New Single “I’ll Never Love Again”

Multitalented powerhouse and certified rockstar WOODZ made a triumphant return with the 2-track digital single I’ll Never Love Again. Released on September 24, the digital single features the tracks “I’ll Never Love Again” and “Smashing Concrete.” This project arrives fresh from WOODZ’s military discharge in July and the resurgence of his 2023 sleeper hit, “Drowning.”
WOODZ’s diverse musical expertise of over a decade permeates through the stories woven within the rock rhythms of his songs. The focus track, “I’ll Never Love Again,” resonates with all who have dared to love. “Smashing Concrete,” the second track, is a message of empowerment to overcome life’s obstacles.
If This Is How Love Always Ends…

“I’ll Never Love Again” unfolds with a melancholic organ melody, like a haunting rendition of a wedding march. The song is a powerful blend of alternative rock with folk elements. Amidst moments of subdued guitar and drums, bold rock sounds paired with WOODZ’s vocal belts crash in. “I’ll Never Love Again” reaches an emotional high in the chorus with WOODZ’s moving vocal delivery and echoes of choir-like harmonies. The chorus feels like a vulnerable cry: “I’ll never love / It burns me down / The love that touched / My cold heart / Has swallowed me whole again.”
This passion persists from the bridge until the very end. The bridge repeats an ultimatum that those who experienced heartbreak insist upon: “If this is how love always ends / I’ll never love again.” WOODZ delivers a 4-minute meditation on love and heartbreak that leaves listeners with a flurry of emotions that linger long after the song’s end. Though we may vow to never love again, love is a quality ultimately inseparable from humanity.
The cinematic music video depicts the passage of time and the phases of love. Captured with an innovative rotating camera, we see pairs of all ages go through the motions of love. The moments of contention eventually culminate in an intimate embrace. Bold text then flashes onscreen: “WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU LOSE YOUR LOVE?” Afterwards, WOODZ is pictured alone with his back turned to the camera, facing a raging fire alongside text that reads “ARE YOU GOING TO NEVER LOVE AGAIN?” As viewers dwell on this hypothetical, WOODZ continues to sing his heart out as the flames blaze, an image on par with the song’s intensity.
This Beast Is Bound To Break

WOODZ knows a thing or two about resilience. He started in the multiethnic idol quintet UNIQ before later venturing onto competition programs like Show Me The Money 5 and Produce X 101. From idol singer to rapper and R&B aficionado to current rockstar, WOODZ continues to challenge himself in an endless pursuit of artistic growth.
The subsequent track on this digital single conveys a message closely aligned with WOODZ’s personal journey. “Smashing Concrete” is described in a press release as “a cathartic anthem of defying obstacles, one that radiates liberation and perseverance.”
This track was unveiled back in July, just a week after WOODZ completed his military enlistment. “Smashing Concrete” features a gritty rock sound reminiscent of ‘90s alternative grunge anthems. The accompanying visualizer shows how people from various walks of life alleviate their pent-up stress through destruction. Like how WOODZ sings, “Just looking up won’t change a thing / This massive beast is bound to break someday,” suppressing one’s frustrations only leads to a catastrophic breaking point.
I’ll Never Love Again serves as a testament to WOODZ’s artistry. WOODZ is not only a standout artist thanks to his versatility and talents, but his ability to resonate with audiences everywhere.
I’ll Never Love Again is available to stream on music platforms. Stay in touch with WOODZ on Instagram, TikTok, X, and Youtube.
