It’s too hard to choose, I love them all! But I’ll say Doyoung and Kun for now.
NCTzen/ WayZenNi since:
I’ve been a fan since “The 7th Sense”, but I think this year fully cemented me as an NCTzen/Weishennie.
Mostly digital illustrations and sometimes animation.
NCT/WayV Inspiration in Art:
NCT/WayV have some of the most incredibly unique concepts and aesthetics in their music, which always inspires new concepts for my own art.
What was your reaction when you were asked to draw the cover?
I was so excited! I was a little nervous because I wanted to do it well, but mostly really excited.
What is the inspiration behind the cover that you created?
When I was looking for inspiration, I decided to go back and look at all of the Christmas content we’ve gotten from NCT/WayV over the years.
What was the main goal you wanted to achieve with your cover art?
I wanted it to look like a cute family portrait taken during the holidays, and I wanted it to be really warm, cozy, and festive!
What has been the most rewarding part about creating the cover?
This was the first time I got to draw all of the members! Figuring out how to draw the members in my style and discovering who were the most fun for me to draw was really exciting.
How did you feel about its completion and the feedback from Ncity?
Seeing the lovely reactions from everyone and seeing that it made people excited to read the issue really warmed my heart! I’m very thankful I got the chance to do this.
Any advice for up and coming artists?
It sounds a bit cliché, but draw what makes you happy. We all tend to compare ourselves to other artists or worry about social media engagement at times, but those things can often make things harder on us. Making art for yourself is the best way to keep yourself motivated.
Also, feed your output with as much input as you can! Take breaks from making art to watch films, play games, read books, explore art history, etc — all of these things will help you find inspiration and open your mind to new ideas and concepts.
