NCT 127’s Seoul-ful Teaser Looks: A Beauty Breakdown

NCT 127’s third full-length album, Sticker, is due to release on September 17, with the nine-member group providing an array of teaser images and videos to promote the two versions of the album- Sticky and “Seoul.” Both sets of teasers captured the diverse atmospheres of each version, with the stylists reflecting each vibe within the members’ looks.

Sultry and Sticky

First to be released were the Sticky teasers – each member having a dedicated set of images and a short video, which were accompanied with an eclectic photo.

Keeping it natural, the members’ hair colors were left neutral tones, with Haechan’s muted pink hair and Doyoung’s temporary color streaks being the exception. The spectrum ranged from Jungwoo’s icy blonde to Taeyong’s signature black. The coloring took little away from the overall images, which focused on each members’ sultry eyes.

Jaehyun sported peachy-mauve tones on his lids, with a shimmer finish under his lash line. The subtle glitter highlighted his eyes and deepened his intense gaze. The warm shadow complimented his zealous red jacket and the red props found in the graphic image.

Likewise, other members such as Haechan and Johnny wore a similar look, with pink being the focal color of their makeup.

For other members, their brows were used to draw attention to their eye area instead of shimmer. Yuta held fans captive with a wink as his bolder brows and bangs framed his expression.

Whilst leader, Taeyong, rocked a brow slit that was reminiscent of his look for “Baby Don’t Stop.”

Throughout the “Sticky” teaser images, a recurring appearance of soft-blush lips was prominent. Some members like Mark and Jungwoo, chowed down on sticky sweets, which drew attention to their plump pouts.

More subtly, Taeil and Doyoung kept their mouths as focal points, with a clean face and minimal makeup other than their satin-finish lips.

Full of Seoul

Second to be revealed, the Seoul teasers followed a similar pattern, with members again having a dedicated set of images – this time set on the rooftop and inside of a highrise building in Seoul. The city’s lights set for a glamorous atmosphere, followed through by the styling of the members.

Each of the nine men were seen with fresh, glowing skin. The focus fell on their highlighter- placed strategically on their cheekbones, cupid’s bow, nose, and in Taeil and Taeyong’s case, even ears, its purpose was to reflect the luminosity of the surrounding.

Unlike the teasers before, their lids were left untouched, and their brows were only subtly filled in. This left their eyes appearing softer, for the audience to focus on their highlighted features and the setting.

Their hair seemed to have stronger styles this time around, with shorter cuts, as seen on Taeyong, Jungwoo, and Mark. The undercuts exposed their natural features, such as their sharp bone structures, as well as adding an interesting visual point, with Taeyong’s shaved pattern.

Other members who had longer locks, had their hair styled in clear sections- some falling across their forehead and others having it clearly parted in the center. The parting created a frame, once again, for the members’ facial expressions to be seen.

Fan reactions

Although some fans were distracted by other areas, such as Johnny’s chest, many were appreciative of the styling of each member in both teasers.

Others praised members’ makeup, like Taeil and Jaehyun’s glow.

Some fans revealed how impressed they were with other beauty aspects of the teasers, such as Taeyong’s seemingly hairless armpits.

However, most fans simply couldn’t pinpoint why each member looked so stunning, leaving them to express their love for the overall looks.
