With Fashion Week underway, there have been plenty of memorable style moments in the last couple of days. From the catwalks to the front rows and the streets, New York has served boundless inspiration and lessons on style.

From the runways, we learned that the rise of blue and turquoise is imminent. Brands such as Fendi (in collaboration with Tiffany & Co.), Proenza Schouler, and Christian Siriano are proof of it. Meanwhile, the likes of Snow Xue Gao and Brandon Maxwell are championing the return of floral motifs, and Gabriela Hearst and Kim Shui are making a case for gold. Neon green and dopamine dressing as seen on Marni and Christian Cowan will continue to bring fun to fashion in 2023. And last, but definitely not least, if we go by what we’ve seen at Peter Do and Tory Burch, metallic makeup might be the new beauty trend taking over the world soon.

However, while runways are dictating what fashion will look like in upcoming seasons, people on the streets are giving us an insight into what’s in right now. Guests, models, and fashionistas alike have been parading around the city in their best looks. From what we’ve seen so far, there are one or two things to keep in mind.

For one thing, we’ve confirmed that the real backbone of style is confidence. For another, an all-black fit will never go out of style. And though dopamine dressing is still a thing and we’ll never get bored of green in all its iterations—from neon-core to Bottega green—it seems that monochromatic looks and neutral colors will be the go-to colors as we enter fall.
