Birr, it’s cold on stage! To celebrate Nicolas Ghesquière’s 10th anniversary as creative director, Louis Vuitton served up the chicest cold-weather fashion and the makeup looks to match. Celebrity makeup artist Pat McGrath took charge of the makeup chair for the night, crafting the beauty for the fashion house’s Fall Winter 2024 show. Soft pigment, iridescent highlights and glowy skin created an ethereal look that beauty lovers are still raving about.

Want to know how to recreate the look? Ahead, EnVi breaks down all the products Pat McGrath used to design the glam for Louis Vuitton’s Fall Winter 2024 show. Additionally, Kecia Littman, Global Artistry and Education Manager at Pat McGrath Labs, gives us the scoop on how to put a warm-weather twist onto a glowy look.

Ethereal Complexion

Mixing past and present, Louis Vuitton’s latest show was a journey through Nicolas Ghesquière’s tenure as creative director. In contrast to the glittery fabrics, asymmetric shapes and richly patterned garments, the glam was subtle and minimal. Emulating the no-makeup makeup taking over beauty spaces, the glam design enhanced the models’ natural beauty and accentuated their best features.

In a video shared on Instagram, Team Pat McGrath offered a glimpse of the products used to achieve the subtly radiant look — and yes, you guessed it right, they all come from Pat McGrath Labs.

The first step was layering the biphase Divine Skin: Rose 001™ The Essence, which enlivens the skin and revitalizes its natural glow. Then, the Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection The System — consisting of primer, foundation and powder — perfected the skin. The glam team didn’t opt for an unnatural full coverage base. Instead, they highlighted some of the models’ signature features such as Felix’s “too BEAUTIFUL to cover” freckles and Mona Tougaard’s cheekbone mole. This bright, healthy-looking base was the canvas for the next step — glow.

For a spotlight effect, the Skin Fetish: Highlighter + Balm Duo was dabbed onto the high points of the face. (If you were wondering, that’s why the lights bounced off the models´ cheeks, nose bridge and brow bones as they walked down the runway.) As for blush, the team worked with the Divine Blush: Legendary Glow Colour Balms in Divine Rose and Forbidden Fleur. To give a rosy sculpt to the cheeks, the blush was applied from the ear, down the cheekbone and towards the mouth. Look closely at the pictures below and you’ll know what we’re talking about.

The Glow Continues

The subtle glow extended to the eye and lip makeup. Calculated shimmer placement created a runway-approved appearance. Makeup artists crafted naked, yet glimmering eyes with the Mothership I: Subliminal Palette. Icy pearlescent pigment on the lids and inner corners and a few coats of the inky FetishEyes™ Mascara finished off the eye makeup.

For the lip look, McGrath reached for a makeup artist staple — clear gloss. The Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Balm, a sheer buildable lip product with a dewy finish, was used for this step. Cohesive yet nondescript, the product gave the lips a hydrated, healthy shine — as seen on Louis Vuitton’s brand ambassador and runway model Felix Lee.

Insider Tips for a Glowy Look

With the spring season fast approaching, glowy everyday makeup is part of our to-try list. Kecia Littman, Global Artistry and Education Manager at Pat McGrath Labs, gives us the ultimate expert tips to achieve and maintain a glossy look with just a few steps.

“To get a gorgeous glowy makeup look, highlight the high points of the face — bridge of the nose, the high planes of the cheeks, the Cupid’s bow, under the eyebrow bone, and inner corner of the eyes,” she explains. “My favorite product that gives you a glow in seconds is the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Highlighter + Balm Duo in NUDE. On one side, the nude color has a soft pearlescent shimmer and on the other side, the balm gives you glass-like skin. Combine the two together for the ultimate glow on the go!”

Now, how do we ensure our glowy skin is warm weather-resistant? Littman recommends applying primer only on the T-zone of the face — the forehead, the sides of the nose and the chin. “You don’t need to use primer all over the face, only use it where you need it. You can use a makeup primer that combats shine and minimizes pores. A little goes a long way!” she says. “If you’re using a powder you can apply the same method and only apply powder on the T-zone.”

We’re writing all these tips down!
