Move over, Pirates of the Caribbean. On September 6, 2021, SM Entertainment shared the first poster for The Pirates: Goblin Flag, set to star EXO’s Oh Sehun. At the helm is director Kim Jung Hoon, known for The Accidental Detective (2015) and Petty Romance (2010).

The Pirates: Goblin Flag, scheduled to premiere on December 31, 2021, boasts a star-studded cast alongside Sehun: Kang Ha Neul, Han Hyo Joo, Lee Kwang Soo, Kwon Sang Woo, Chae Soo Bin, Kim Sung Oh, and Park Ji Hwan. The film is a sequel to The Pirates—a box office hit that made it to Cannes in 2014 and pre-sold to 15 countries.

A fantasy action-adventure, Goblin Flag follows a group of seafaring bandits and pirates who are desperate to find the lost treasure of the Goryeo Royal Family. The treasure, which disappeared without a trace, is sought after by the noble Woo Moo Chi (Kang Ha Neul), and the band of pirates he’s sailing with, led by Hae Rang (Han Hyo Joo). But it’s not all smooth sailing from there—Moo Chi and the pirates are up against Bu Heung Soo (Kwon Sang Woo) in a race for the treasure.

Sehun will play the pirate ship’s stellar archer, Han Goong.

Excitement for “Actor Sehun”

It comes as no surprise to fans of EXO’s maknae that he’s staying busy, with a variety of fashion projects, as well as EXO’s most recent group release, Don’t Fight The Feeling, under his belt. After his stellar performance as the titular Dokgo in the web drama Dokgo Rewind (2018) and his participation in Netflix’s Busted!, fans can’t wait to see Sehun on the big screen with Goblin Flag

Sehun’s only other film appearance has been in Park Hee-kon’s Catman (2021)

The cast of Goblin Flag will appear on For Rent: House on Wheels, a spinoff tvN’s popular travel variety show, House on Wheels. The show will premiere on September 9 and feature the cast as its first guests on a healing camping trip.

With his dashing good looks and proven acting chops, we can’t wait to see what Sehun brings to the big screen with The Pirates: Goblin Flag
