It goes without saying that Prada’s fashion shows are always a star-studded affair. From the runway to the VIP section, whether it is online or offline, the unveiling of Prada’s collections guarantees an A-list of attendants. The presentation of its Fall-Winter 2022 show was not any different. While models of the likes of Kaia Gerber, Kendall Jenner, and Anok Kai graced the runway, celebs such as Kim Kardashian made it to the front row of the show. No fashion event is complete without Korean presence, so to fill the bill, K-pop stars including NCT’s Jaehyun, SNSD’s Seohyun, TWICE’s Sana, and actors Kim Taeri and Lee Jong Suk—among many others—were in attendance.

Fall-Winter 2022: An Ideology of Prada

With the premise of celebrating the modeling profession, the Italian fashion house of Prada anticipated its Fall Winter 2022 show with childhood video clips of several models. On the second day of Milan Fashion Week, the brand then presented a runway that according to show notes was an homage to “the history of women.” The collection itself was a rendition of everything Prada is known for. Oversized fits, dropped shoulders and the juxtaposition of fabrics and textures were predominant throughout the show. However, with Co-creative Directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simmons joining forces, there was a fresh sping on looks that were reminiscent of previous collections. Embellished bomber jackets, sheer skirts, and faux fur shearlings offered a twist to what the designers dubbed “An Ideology of Prada.”

The VIPs

While Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer, Kaia Gerber, and Kendall Jenner commanded attention on the runway, celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Rita Ora stole the spotlight on the front row. It was online, however, where Korean stars were throwing their own show. As one might expect with the Italian fashion brand strengthening its global links, Korean celebrities were also in remote attendance. That didn’t stop them from flaunting their head-to-toe Prada looks and further prove why Korean pop culture is taking over fashion—and the world.

Among others, the long list included Prada’s official ambassadors Kim Taeri and Lee Jong Suk, actress Go Youn Jung, actors Hwang In Youp and Song Kang. K-pop stars such as The Boyz’s Younghoon, Chung Ha, Hwasa, SNSD’s Seohyun, and former 2NE1 member Sandara Park joined virtually as well.

TWICE’s Sana x Prada

Following her Cosmopolitan pictorial in collaboration with Prada, TWICE’s Sana also flaunted her model looks. Dressed in a black satin dress, slingback pumps, and Prada staples such as the Re-Edition 1995 bag, the singer became a hot topic on social media. Her Instagram post garnered excited responses from fans, who remarked the close association between the star and the Italian house that dates back to 2019. In addition to the social media post, Sana also participated in a short fashion clip for W Korea, promoting the show.

Jaehyun x Prada: The Friendship Goes On

Naturally, another idol setting the internet ablaze was NCT’s Jaehyun. Adding yet another invitation to his blooming friendship with Prada, the superstar took to Instagram to anticipate the fashion show. Sporting a rather casual look accessorized with a Prada Saffiano Triangle bag, the singer proved that he can turn any setting to his own personal runway. Needless to say, fans’ reactions were overwhelmingly positive. Jaehyun’s Instagram post amassed millions of likes in just a few hours.

With Korean entertainment receiving global recognition, fashion brands have turned their attention to K-pop and K-drama stars. The new faces of luxury, these artists are undoubtedly reshaping the fashion landscape. It is safe to assume that as Fashion Week unfolds fans can look forward to more fashion content of their favorite stars. In the meantime, you can revisit Jaehyun’s friendship with Prada here.
