On February 27, Saint Laurent’s fashionista, Rosé, made a highly anticipated appearance at the brand’s Fall Winter 2024 show. Amidst camera snaps, the vocalist left people’s jaws “On The Ground” with a translucent ensemble — pun intended. Now, in all seriousness, Rosé’s impactful return to the front row showcased how to abide by the rule of juxtaposition to take an outfit to the next level. We’re taking notes.

The Fashion

Marking a departure from her classic little black dresses, Rosé’s sheer get-up welcomed a new fashion era for the artist. Dressed in a see-through top and floor-length skirt, the singer seemed to be sending a message: the naked dress is still in vogue, but it needs a reboot. (Yes, she’s embracing the barely-there trend on her terms.) 

Fastened at the neck, the blouse provided a Peekaboo effect, leaving the angled hemline and ruffles to create interest for the eyes. Meanwhile, the chocolate brown color veered off from the fashion house’s signature black aesthetic  — a change-up that harmonized with Rosé’s complexion. To further play with the layered effect, Rosé also sported a black set of underclothes.

The Beauty

If a barely-there ensemble wasn’t a big enough change, then you have to take a closer look at the glam. In fact, “barely-there” was probably the theme inspiring her beauty. Rosé ditched her signature soft smokey eyes for a minimal beauty routine consisting of cloud matte skin, glossy pink lips, and pin-straight hair. 

Bold, rectangular frames were the main point of her look, bestowing an empowered and bold energy. This modern edgy aesthetic created an artsy juxtaposition with the flowy garments. Romantic ruffles, translucent chiffon, and edgy statement glasses made quite the ensemble for Rosé. 

Risky but not risqué, this outfit will go down as one of Rosé’s standout looks. By mixing and matching aesthetics, the idol proved she’s not afraid to step out of the box — and we’ll be talking about it in the weeks to come.
