Bretman Rock’s Willy Wonka Costume
Filipino-American internet personality Bretman Rock channeled the “dreamers of dreams” for Halloween 2024, portraying the eccentric Willy Wonka from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Rock’s costume featured a long purple coat, curly blonde wig and top hat. The internet star was joined by his sister Princess Mae Sacayanan Laforga and cousin Keiffer (best known as Miss Kaye), dressed as oompa-loompas (Willy Wonka factory workers). The trio wore their costumes to record an episode of the influencer’s YouTube show Da Baddest Radio.
Chelsea Manalo’s Take on Disney Princesses
Reigning Miss Universe Philippines Chelsea Manalo recreated the look of Princess Tiana from the Disney animated film The Princess and the Frog. Her outfit focused on the iconic green ball gown with a pointed bodice and water lilies. Paying the utmost attention to detail, Manalo’s costume also included a high bun crowned with a tiara by Filipino-owned jewelry brand Jewelmer. Dramatic smokey eyes, highlighter, and red lipstick topped off the look.
Davika’s Devilish Look
Sexy devil costumes are not a rarity during Halloween celebrations. However, Thai actor Davika Hoorne proved you can always add newness to a stereotypical idea. The star reinvented the horned devil look with a fashionable ensemble: a leather bra with buckle detailing, red tights and stiletto shoes. The key point of Davika’s costume was the refined glam and additional details, which ranged from fangs and pointed nails to large black horns and a leather choker.
Gwen Apuli’s Pennywise Transformation
This Halloween, Filipino singer Gwen Apuli, member of BINI, reinvisioned the horror classic It, crafting a Pennywise-inspired makeup look. Showcasing her most artistic side, Gwen filmed a mini transformation video on Instagram that has amassed more than 3 million views thus far. The makeup masked Apuli’s face with dramatic glam that recreated Pennywise’s scariest features. Apuli created the makeup with black, white and red face paint and topped the look off with a white lace collar and messy buns.
Jane and Archen Aydin’s Take on the Latest Global Music Hit
Rosé and Bruno Mars’ single “APT” has become a true global sensation, shattering records, topping global charts and inspiring viral social media challenges. Thai stars Jane and Archen Aydin used the song’s music video as inspiration for their Halloween costumes. The outfits replicate Rosé and Bruno Mars’ ensembles with leather jackets layered over white tops and accessorized with sportive footwear, pearls, golden jewelry and red accents. And because Thai stars take Halloween very seriously, the pair also recreated the music video for “APT” in an Instagram reel that is already making the rounds online.
Jeff Satur’s Victorian Costume
Thai actor Jeff Satur made a case for Victorian dressing at the Siam Halloween 2024 festival. Fans speculated his costume was inspired by his lead role as Damon in his self-produced YouTube series Happy Ending. Satur’s ivory blouse featured large gigot sleeves and a daring keyhole cut-out. Faux blood-stained bandages and red makeup enhanced the vampire aesthetic. Adding a trendy touch, the Thai heartthrob sported a wet hair look, as seen on the runways and front rows of Men’s Fashion Week.
Maris Racal’s Angel Baby Outfit
The 2023 film Saltburn prompted some truly iconic pop culture moments so it’s no surprise that Halloween costumes inspired by the movie have been increasingly popular on social media. Filipina actress Maris Racal is among the superstars replicating Jacob Elordi’s look in the film. The Can’t Buy Me star tapped into the denim and white formula, sporting a pair of denim jeans and a white cropped top. The highlight? A pair of golden wings that gave her the most angelic aura.
Mint’s Catwoman Costume
Thai actress Ranchrawee Uakoolwarawat (Mint) brought out her inner Catwoman for Halloween. The star is often dressed in classy and refined looks, so her costume was a striking change-up. Mint’s leather corset top and mini skirt featured large silver buckles and were paired with black mesh tights and a sheer top. Equal parts edgy, sexy and stylish, Mint’s costume perfectly captured the essence of Catwoman. For the finishing touches, the Bad Romeo star revived Anne Hathway’s role as Selina Kyle (Catwoman) in The Dark Knight Rises with silky long hair and feline headwear.
Molly Chiang as Zendaya
The world loves a viral fashion moment and Taiwanese social media figure Molly Chiang is no exception. Opting for a high-fashion approach to Halloween, Chiang dressed up as American style icon Zendaya. The internet personality revisited one of this year’s most iconic moments and donned a replica of Zendaya’s 2024 Met Gala outfit — the Maison Margiela dress that wowed global audiences. To make her Halloween look even more accurate, Chiang enlisted the help of fellow internet personality and physical trainer Shang-Ting, who portrayed stylist Law Roach. Talk about high-effort costumes!
Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinian’s Disco Slay
Filipino actors Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinian departed from superhero ‘fits and spooky costumes and went the glamourous route for the disco-themed “The Opulence Ball: The Velvet Underground.” The Can’t Buy Me Love stars rocked silver and gold ensembles that served as the perfect ‘70s nightlife throwback. Similar to disco-era queens, Mariano sported a sequined column dress with cutout details in the bodice — á la Cher — and spiced up her look with upper arm cuffs and a ruffled stole. Pangilinian, on the other hand, suited up with a crystal-embellished two-piece layered over a black shirt. Stylish X2!
Nava Rose’s Moo Deng-Inspired Outfit
Filipino-American internet personality Nava Rose leaned on her DIY (do it yourself) roots to create a Moo Deng–inspired outfit. ICYMI, Moo Deng is the viral pygmy hippopotamus that lives at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Thailand. The baby hippo has driven the internet’s attention, prompting all sorts of social media content — costumes included.
Nava Rose, couldn’t miss out on the chance to dress up as this season’s most adorable internet sensation. Her outfit, crafted in shiny gray fabric featured an off-the-shoulder top, bubble skirt and leg warmers that gave the Moo Deng look a touch of Y2K. Paying attention to detail, her costume also included matching ears and a fuzzy pink bag. The queen of DIY did it again!
Orntara Poonsak, Freen Sarocha and Becky Armstrong as The Powerpuff Girls
Idol factory actors Orntara Poonsak, Freen Sarocha and Becky Armstrong teamed up to deliver an iconic group effort this Halloween. The stars portrayed well-loved cartoon icons Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup — best known as The Powerpuff Girls — with a Y2K flair. The outfits consisted of matching bootcut pants, baby tees and ballet shoes, accentuated with flower and heart motifs. For a touch of Halloween fun, each of them sported a colored wing and retro-inspired accessories like chunky jewelry and flip phones.
PiXXiE’s Dark Coquette looks
Thai girl group PiXXiE wore entirely scarlet ensembles to the Siam Halloween 2024 festival in Bangkok. Except for the striking color, the outfits were heavily inspired by the coquette trend. Each look consisted of a corset, mini skirt, and lace hosiery — in fact, the team tapped into the re-emergence of red tights. On par with the fits, the girls of PiXXiE didn’t skimp on makeup trends. Cherry-red Tanghulu lips, graphic liner, facial gemes and faux face piercings created a spicy yet sweet dichotomy.
Victoria Justice as Coraline
American actress Victoria Justice took a cute approach to Hallow’s Eve, recreating the look of Coraline Jones from the stop-motion film Coraline. Justice’s costume showed the power of primary colors. A yellow raincoat and boots, a red crossbody bag and a blue bob came together for a bright, lively costume that served as a picture-perfect example of dopamine dressing.
VIIS’ Spooky Sailor ensembles
Thai girl group VIIS took the baddie aesthetic to the dark side for the Siam Halloween 2024 music festival. The quintet’s outfits, inspired by Japanese high school uniforms and taken right from their music video “Chop Chop,” channeled girl crush aesthetics. The styling mixed in sultry style elements — sailor-inspired crop tops and leather hot shorts with garters were the main features. Beauty-wise, each member swept up their hair in high ponytails with black bows and kept their makeup spooky with fake blood details.
Zeepruk and NuNew’s Modern-day Vampire ‘Fits
Thai actors Pruk Panich (Zeepruk) and Chawarin Perdpiriyawong (NuNew) slayed fantasy dressing at the Siam Halloween 2024 festival. On par with other celebrity appearances, the on-screen lovers put their twist on the vampire aesthetic with edgy leather outfits. Both Zeepruk and NuNew tapped into the sheer dressing trend for the first layer of their looks. However, they upgraded their costumes with bold leather jackets, silver jewelry and details such as a fake blood choker. As the final touch, the twosome put a spin on the classic vampire makeup with a subtle red contour.
