Last year, NCT’s leader, Taeyong made waves as a judge on Mnet’s show, Street Woman Fighter. Following the success of the dance reality show, the gifted performer will be joining former members of the competition on Mnet’s new program, Any Body Can Dance

From Street Woman Fighter to Any Body Can Dance

Premiered in 2021, Mnet’s survival show, Street Woman Fighter successfully introduced eight dance groups as they battled to become “Korea’s best female dance crew.” With top stars such as BoA and Taeyong judging the competition, Street Woman Fighter enjoyed great popularity, propelling established female dancers to stardom and prompting a series of spin-offs.

In addition to a male version of the survival program, Mnet will reunite the crew leaders of the original show for a new reality program. Titled Any Body Can Dance (Tik Tok’s Counterattack in Korean), the program will show the leaders of Street Woman Fighter teaching dance to amateur dancers.

According to reports, the show will find its participants through a street audition on April 30 at Hongdae Festival Street and Gangnam Square. However, since the show recorded over 2500 applications, there’s already high anticipation about the selected competitors.

MC Taeyong

After serving as a judge on Street Woman Fighter, NCT’s leader Taeyong will be returning to our screens through Mnet’s new TV show. On April 28 (KST) the broadcasting company confirmed that the star will be joining Any Body Can Dance as an emcee. Set to air in June, the program will mark Taeyong’s first emcee gig.

“It’s an honor that the links I created with Street Woman Fighter have led to Any Body Can Dance,” Taeyong said about the announcement. “It’s my first MC challenge, so I’m very nervous, but I want to play a role that connects the cast full of passion for dance and the leaders of Street Woman Fighter. I will do my best to make viewers immersed in the program and have fun,” he added.

2022, the Year of Taeyong

Solo music releases, magazine covers, and viral choreographies are only a few of Taeyong’s achievements in 2022. The multi-talented member of NCT kicked off the year with a successful TikTok challenge that put fans and non-fans around the world to dance. He later proved his fashion credentials on the cover of W Korea in partnership with CELINE. A string of exciting projects followed including the launch of his own Youtube channel and the release of “Diamonds,” a collaboration with EnVi’s cover star Suran. More recently, Taeyong joined forces with Wonstein for “Love Theory,” a song released as part of SM Entertainment’s SM STATION. What better way to continue his terrific year than emceeing a highly awaited show?
