A large part of Coachella Music Festival’s popularity comes from fashion — from A-list celebrities to masses of festival goers, many attendees use the event as an opportunity to demonstrate their style chops. K-pop group LE SSERAFIM was no exception.

The quintet made their debut performance at the renowned Coachella Festival on April 13. A week later, the group returned to the stage, bringing an energetic performance to Indio, California.  As Louis Vuitton ambassadors, Sakura, Chaewon, Yunjin, Kazuha, and Eunchae received the star treatment and sported custom-made outfits.

Weekend 1: Black Leather and Silver Shine

For the group’s inaugural performance at Coachella, the theme was a hybrid of girl crush and feminine sparkle. Louis Vuitton Women’s Collection Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquière, the mind behind the brand’s recent ventures, reimagined Louis Vuitton’s signature silhouettes and color palettes for each of the girl’s outfits.

Yunjin paired an asymmetric Damier mini skirt and matching bandeau top with a sleeveless leather jacket. Meanwhile, Eunchae’s outfit consisted of an all-black high-waisted leather skirt and a statement Damier shirt. Sakura’s key point was a black wool bolero jacket with jeweled buttons, while Kazuha’s outfit incorporated subtle color in the form of green sequins. Chaewon was styled in a black boxy leather jacket and matching miniskirt decorated with metallic eyelets and snap closure details, leaning into a racercore theme.

Zipper details and sequins connected every outfit, creating a glistening effect under the stage lights. Additionally, LE SSERAFIM sported custom-made shoes that mimicked familiar Louis Vuitton footwear models. The minimalist yet trendy approach to festival attire breathed life into the group’s performance, highlighting Louis Vuitton’s signature aesthetic.

Weekend 2: Hot Pink and Electric Blue Notes

When LE SSERAFIM took the stage for their second performance, they showcased a colorful set of looks. Whereas the first weekend was defined by a monochromatic palette, the new round of outfits played with electric blue and hot pink hues. Again crafted by Ghesquière, the group’s outfits reflected a more distinct LE SSERAFIM style profile — think a reinterpretation of “Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard’s wife.”

Yunjin was styled in a blue sequin mini dress that matched Kazuha’s georgette ruffle skirt. On the other hand, Eunchae, Sakura, and Chaewon boasted hot pink pieces, including an asymmetrical georgette skirt with flower motifs, a satin bustier top embroidered with sequins and a miniskirt with vinyl side pockets, respectively.

To celebrate the new collaboration between LE SSERAFIM and the French fashion house, Louis Vuitton released an exclusive video featuring behind-the-scenes footage of the creative design process. The clip also includes commentary from the group members themselves.

Delivering two memorable performances at Coachella, LE SSERAFIM has joined the ranks of prominent Asian artists currently carving a place in the global music industry. Since last year, LE SSERAFIM has engaged in various international projects — ranging from a collaboration with video game Overwatch 2 to musical endeavors with American icons such as Demi Lovato. Coachella marks a new chapter in LE SSERAFIM’s career, pushing them further in the climb towards greater global heights.
